The only story I was indirectly inconvenienced by was the one about the storms. We had a code black (tornadoes) at work and they wouldn't let me leave. On a Friday. There are still large areas of the city without power.

Ditto here - I was in a far south suburb called Mokena and was about to leave and get in my car the EXACT moment the storm hit. I got soaked by torrential rain and then it took me 2 hours to get home because of the weather. Streets downtown were flooded and so traffic had to all go on to Lake Shore Drive. At least that's what I believe happened.

And about the crime - see my earlier post. Seriously, gun violence in Chicago and the U.S. on the whole is OUT OF CONTROL. DO YOU READ ME, NRA? I will pry it out of your cold dead hand when you get shot on a visit to the south side!
